Grassfed versus grain fed beef is a debate no one can truly win, cause both have their followings.Grassfed cattle has leaner meat and takes much longer to reach maturity than grain fed cattle. This is also one reason why you will pay a premium on grass fed beef products.

As for taste you will know it when you taste it. Grain fed meat has a higher fat content and has a richer mouth feel.The meat tastes uniformly similar as the cattle has been fed pretty much a similar diet of grain and soybeans.Meat from two different ranches will have a similar taste, something most consumers do appreciate.

Whereas grass fed beef has a mineral tang is somewhat leaner and is supposedly lower in saturated fats. This is supposed to be because the cattle is always out on the pasture feeding on grass and herbs.
